Site

Alytta.com is the latest in an embarrassingly long line of neglected domains, a habit which I first formed in the early 21^st century. It's a personal website that I plan to expand sometime in the future.

Etymology

The name Alytta is a mix of my real name and the Athenian spelling of its origin: the Greek goddess of rage and fury, Lyssa (Greek: Λύσσα; Attic Greek: Lytta, Λύττα). I used to dislike my name when I was younger, but after finding out it basically means "rational" and "sane", it's grown on me. Like cordyceps. Or mint chocolate chip ice cream.

About

I'm a casual gamer, animal enthusiast, and former web developer. I was born on Hobbit Day in San Diego, California. I now live with my boyfriend and two dogs on the east coast. I've described myself in the past as a "lazy perfectionist", "expert procrastinator", and "your friendly neighborhood Slytherin"... So, take what you will from that.

Interests and Hobbies

I love sci-fi, fantasy, and murder mysteries. I play video games occasionally, mostly RPGs with the odd two-week binge of The Sims, of course. Some of my favorites are Puppeteer, the Mass Effect trilogy, Hogwarts Legacy, Ghost of Tsushima, The Wolf Among Us, and Spiritfarer. I also read, though not as much as I'd like to. My attention span is completely shot because of TikTok and my brain cells have been fried from bad fanfiction.

I like to listen to different music, sometimes in different languages. For some reason, I think finding really obscure music was a lot easier pre-Spotify, but perhaps it's just the quality that's dropped. I still listen to stuff that I did in middle school and high school. And despite trying to outgrow my adolescent K-pop phase, I was sucked back into the fray by Stray Kids (thanks a lot, Hyunjin).

Random Facts

I love all animals, but my favorite dog breed is the Shih Tzu because they look like mogwais, Ewoks, and aliens all in one.
My MBTI bounces between INTJ, INFJ, and INFP.
I don't have any tattoos, but I want to get one eventually.
I named one of my dogs after a character in Telltale's Game of Thrones.
My favorite color is blue; more specifically, it's the color of the sky at twilight (cue "Twilight Time" by The Platters).
Opossums deserve all the love in the world.
